Three months after the iPad launched in April 2010, the founders of Solve-It! Store went on the hunt for an iPad mount. Our requirements were simple. The mount needed to tilt and swivel, so it could move to whatever angle we were working at. It also had to work as a stand, so we could use it for a tabletop iPad holder. And it needed to be well-made, since we're all a little OCD about quality over here.
Long story short, we couldn't find one. The mounts that were available either didn't swivel or tilt, or they were made out of plastic that looked like it would fall apart if we sneezed too hard at it.
Taking a cue from the Entprepreneur's Prerogative, we decided to scratch our own itch. Surely someone, somewhere was looking for the same thing we were and would pay money to buy it. Thus began our journey to build the iPad mount of our dreams. We setup a design area in our warehouse, found a machinist, and started working. Three months of development and four cartons of green tea later, we delivered the final specs to our machinist and started production of the Pad Grip, the first iPad stand that can also mount the iPad nearly anywhere.
Solve-It! Store's mission is simple: to transform the tablet computer from a laid-back reading device into a portable screen that can be mounted anywhere. No hands. No proprietary case. Just the ease and speed of a touchscreen anywhere you want it. The iPad is a multi-touch device.
